You have never been on a Singles Cruise?
If you have never been on a cruise, what are you waiting for? I must admit, being the only married woman on a singles cruise proved to be more fun than I had expected. I went on my first singles cruise a few years ago when I heard about Singles Cruise.com. I did not feel comfortable recommending a cruise to my customers without having tried one myself. So, I thought what the heck, I contacted a few girls on Singles Canada and asked them if they wanted to go. They jumped at the opportunity as they had never been on a cruise either. Well, the fun started long before we boarded the plane. The cruise company sent us a t-shirt and said that they held a contest on the first day for the most innovative shirt. Weeks before the cruise we got together and started cutting, stitching, gluing sequins and threaded beads. We decided that we would call ourselves the Cruise Virgins #1, #2, and #3. To make a long story short, our t-shirts were a hit and we won first prize. A bottle of wine and another t-shirt. It turned out to be an incredible cruise, and I was hooked. My favorite stop was New Orleans, luckily it was not Mardi Gras week as I found it busy enough as it was .
The next cruise I went on was on the Victory through Carnival Cruise Lines. I held a contest on Singles Canada, and I ended up travelling with the winner of the cruise. We went to San Juan, Tortola (beautiful Island) Grand Cayman, and St. Thomas. We had great weather and the singles group was fantastic. Of course I booked it through Singlescruises.com again as they really know how to look after single travellers. If you are not travelling with a friend (which most people aren’t), they match you up with a cabin partner so you do not have to pay the single supplement. Here is a photo of one of the girls that I travelled with
We had really great weather which makes a huge difference. And believe me after a couple of days at sea you start craving for land funny enough.
Dining alone
No one likes to dine alone and that was one of the great things about this Singles Cruise. The first night you are given a table that you have to sit at. This way you get introduced to different people at your table. All other nights you sit where you want and you find after the second day that people have already formed friendships. This group in the photo I ended up spending a lot of time with. They were so much fun!!
Another bonus of travelling on a Singles Cruise is that you have your own singles events. They are hosted by singles co-ordinators and are held in private rooms. You have to wear a special bracelet so that they know that you are in the singles group. You would be surprised on how many women and men who would try to crash these private events but it is strictly enforced. After awhile, other people on the ship knew that you were in a group because of the bracelets we wore. The singles cruise also offered speed dating events, meet and greet and other private events. There was something for all ages as the cruise attracts singles from age 19 up to late 60’s. I would say the average age was 30 but a lot in the 40’s and 50’s as well. If you have ever wanted to go on a cruise and did not want to do it alone. I can highly recommend taking a Carnival cruise. Make sure you go through Singles Cruises.com or you will not be able to attend their special singles events.
Happy Cruising
